A GATEWAY TOWARDS MEDITERRANEAN FLAVOURS

The Ultimate Cheese Board

How to make the Ultimate Cheese Board – a selection of my favourite cheeses: Manchego, Stilton, and Brie, paired with fresh fruit, almonds, walnuts, pears, grapes, figs and crackers. During summer, we enjoy this with a glass of Hugo Spritz but it works marvellously with a glass of wine (or two). Perfect for an Aperitivo with friends, a cosy night in, or special occasions and holidays. A beautiful and delightful centrepiece that everyone will enjoy!

The Ultimate Cheese Board

Guys, I’m taking a moment here because I’m drooling just by looking at it!

I put this together for my friend’s birthday and let me tell you this: it was gone in a jiffy. I find that a cheese board and a glass of wine (or two) it’s something everyone can relate to. It creates a sense of togetherness and sharing with others, a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for stories to be told and new memories to be crafted.

Every cheese board is unique, and the options are endless. You can tailor it according to your taste and adapt it to every season.

CREATE A DELICIOUS CHEESE BOAD IN UNDER 20 MINUTES

This plater revives memories of my recent holiday in the beautiful, medieval town of Saint Emilion, France, near Bordeaux. The selection of local cheeses and wines was tremendously presented by the restaurants’ staff.

I am always taking some inspiration home from my culinary journeys and then I try to re-interpret and tailor it by putting my spin on it. That’s what I am presenting to you today, and in my opinion, it’s the ultimate cheese board. I encourage and dare you to do so as well! Crafting one of these babies it’s easy and it requires a minimum amount of effort.

WHAT IS A CHEESE BOARD MADE OUT OF?

In my opinion, on a cheese board you should always find: cheese (of course!!!), a variety of crackers, nuts, fruit and charcuterie. Also, you can opt for a selection of jams and vegetables.

WHAT GOES WITH WHAT?

If you are curious and picky (like me) you will want to know more about what type of cheese pairs nicely with what fruit, cracker, and jam – you can see where I’m going with this…

I will give you some delicious suggestions, however, if you have a local deli that distributes cheeses, then why not have a chat with them and ask for their opinion.

From personal experience, they are excited and proud to share their knowledge and help out their customers make the right choice. If you are based in Leamington, UK, or the surrounding area then check out Aubrey Allen – butcher and deli. They pride themselves in providing the best meat, cheeses, and other quality ingredients (non sponsored, just an honest personal opinion).
